Bulletin 2025 Week 8

This week I’ll be hosting EdinburghJS, where Ljupche will be doing a talk on building a photo sharing app on the ATProtocol. This is our first time at the TravelPerk offices (they are recruiting!), and you can watch a trailer on YouTube. .NET Glasgow are also re-launching with a meetup on Thursday.
This week in content from across Scotland:
- Scott posted a medium article on Understanding Closures in JavaScript
- Michael posted on How to choose your tech stack on the AddJam blog
- Sarah posted on Understanding KQL functions
- Rusty posted a video on Building a Tab Snooze Chrome Extension
- Scottish Tech Army streamed Meet the Hiring Manager
I have added a few recent job postings in our Discord community #general channel: Tech Ops engineer, and game developer (JS-based). Join the chat server to take a look.
I’ve also listed future meetups in March on our What’s On page, including Ladies of Code, Nocode.scot, Glasgow Azure User Group and Data&AI Ethics.
We just passed 200 subs on our YouTube channel, where you can subscribe to tune into livestreams from the JavaScript meetups. We’ve now got four supporters on our patreon supporters page, helping grow the community and run more meetups, putting us on a sustainable footing for the future. A big thank you to Duncan McLean, Ian Price, Brewnode Dave, and Ljupche Vasilev! 🎉
