Bulletin 2025 Week 9

It’s a busy week in the Scottish technology world! Ladies of Code Glasgow is on Tuesday as is an Edinburgh Python Social. Glasgow Azure User group is on Wednesday and Jamie Furlong (GlasgowJS host) is running an online session for Scotland Remote Workers. Edinburgh R User group is back on Thursday, and UX North East is running a workshop on STEM Education as well.
- Sarah Lean explains Azure Local Licensing
- Neil Ross blogged on Debugging the hype: AI for Frontend Engineers
- Michael Hayes posted about Simplifying Rails Controllers with Concerns with some real world examples
- Duncan Stephen blogged about following an object-oriented approach to structuring information
We had a great time at EdinburghJS last Tuesday. Thank you to TravelPerk for hosting and sponsoring! You can check out photos from the event on LinkedIn. For future JS meetups we have Design Systems using Tailwind on Tuesday 11th March in Glasgow, Immersive Experiences in the Browser on Tuesday 18th March in Edinburgh, and (limited spaces!) for Shiny Hackapalooza at KPV Lab on Saturday 5th April. The hackathon has been put together by Ljupche and James who have both been involved in hosting and speaking at EdinburghJS over the past year or two. It’s great to see folks use our community reach and resources to run new and interesting events! If you want to speak, volunteer or organise future events then get in touch via our speakers form. No obligation or commitment - it’d be good to chat if you have an idea!
